The New Music Educational Project - My Ancient Guitar

a.       Opening sitting position

The goal here is to provide an opening point for the playing lesson.

Sitting position

Each participant places an Ancient Guitar on its side near the right foot of the chair with the neck facing forward and the string facing outward.  The student sits erect towards the back of the seat.

Note: students who are left-handed should be persuaded to play as if they were right-handed. However if a student does not accept this recommendation, he may play as he pleases, in which case directions for both hands should be reversed.
