Therefore we can now teach the students to strum with the thumb and two fingers - but only separately. We give the fingers of the plucking hand, the same numbers used for guitar: The thumb can simply be called thumb, and it will usually play string no. ![]() The index finger is called finger no. 2, and it will usually play string no. ![]() The finger that will usually play string no. 1 will be called finger no. ![]()
